Fundamentals of tES Workshop

Fundamentals of tES Workshop

Our one-day Fundamentals of tES Workshop is an excellent introductory experience for those who are new to transcranial electrical stimulationand looking to introduce the technique into their own research. The workshop features detailed lectures on the basic principles and physiology of tES, along with plenty of hands-on, practical sessions for delegates to test out tES techniques. Our Fundamentals of tES Workshop is run in collaboration with Goldsmiths, University of London.

The practical workshop covers:

  • The physiology of transcranial electrical stimulation (tES), and the differences between transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS), and transcranial random noise stimulation (tRNS)
  • How to successfully prepare a tES study, including electrode preparation, setting stimulation parameters, and blinding options
  • Safety principles and contraindications in tES studies
  • Discussions and Q&A sessions on how to integrate transcranial electrical stimulation into your own research programme

This workshop is led by Professor Michael Banissyof Goldsmiths, University of London.

For those looking for a more advanced tES course, we also offer a two-day Advanced Applications of tES Workshopwhich will run from December 4 – 5, 2019 at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology. This workshop is also suitable for attendees of the Fundamentals of tES Workshop to build upon the knowledge gained in this course.

Register for this workshop on the BrainBox Initiative Website.
